Pix

Brazil's instant payment system, run by the central bank, which lets players pay straight from their bank account by scanning a QR code or copying a payment key.

Pix moves money between Brazilian bank accounts in seconds, at any hour. For a game web shop, it lets a player without a credit card pay in reais from their bank app.

A summary of Worldpay’s 2026 report puts Pix at about 42% of Brazilian e-commerce value in 2025 (Gr4vy). We have not checked that figure against the full report, so treat it as reported.

It is cheap to accept compared with cards. Stripe charges 2% for Pix on its US pricing, as of September 2026 (Stripe), and Adyen prices it “based on transaction volume”.

Brazil is also opening the App Store. Since iOS 26.5 in June 2026, under a settlement with Brazil’s competition authority, Apple lets apps link to web purchases at a 15% commission, or 10% on reduced terms (Apple). A Brazilian web shop that takes Pix can now be reached from inside the iOS game. See payment methods.
