What your payments stack really costs
A provider’s headline rate is one line on the bill. This calculator adds the rest: payment method fees, currency conversion, payouts, chargebacks, refunds, tax compliance and the team time a do-it-yourself setup needs. Each pre-filled number links to where it came from, or says plainly that it is our assumption.
Results put your provider next to a second one you choose. That defaults to Tebex, which runs this site. Nothing you enter leaves your browser unless you copy a share link. No sign-up.
Your business
What you sell, or expect to sell, through your own web shop. Exclude sales tax and VAT.
About 50,000 orders a year.
Market mix, refunds and chargebacks (defaults shown; replace with your data)
Share of sales on cards issued outside your provider’s home region. PSPs charge a surcharge on these.
Share of sales paid in a currency you don’t hold or pay out in, so it has to be converted.
Our default. Use your own refund rate from your store or provider reports.
Chargebacks as a share of orders. Our default. Visa’s monitoring threshold counts fraud reports plus disputes against 1.5% of transactions in most regions from April 2026.
Share of chargebacks you win. Our default. Digital goods are hard to win without delivery evidence.
How often money is sent to your bank. 12 for monthly, 52 for weekly.
Your provider’s fees
Pick your current or shortlisted provider to load its published fees, then correct any line to match your contract.
Aghanim publishes its full fee schedule in its Developer Terms, including a 5% rolling reserve and a USD 1,000 minimum payout.
How to read the result
The total is what the provider and your own operations cost you in a year to take the revenue you entered. It excludes the cost of the goods themselves, your marketing, and tax on your profits. Sales tax and VAT paid by players are excluded too: a merchant of record collects and remits them, and with a payment service provider you do, which is why the do-it-yourself presets carry tax compliance costs.
Two inputs move the result most. The average order value decides how much fixed per-order fees cost you, and the chargeback rate decides how much disputes cost when you carry them. The order-size chart shows the first; try the second by changing the chargeback rate under “Market mix, refunds and chargebacks”.
